Tiny Tales: The Story Machine | Lahore

Tiny Tales: The Story Machine | Lahore

Saturday 24th November 15:00 16:00

Explore your child’s natural penchant for storytelling with this special Tiny Tales edition!

About the event

We’re celebrating Novel-Writing November at the Library this month, and in keeping with the theme, our storytelling hour for your littles features a reading of Tom McLaughlin’s wonderful introduction to storytelling that is sure to awaken the inner author in us all!

A boy called Elliot finds a machine that’s very different from any machine he has ever seen before. He soon learns that it can make letters and pictures and that he can use these to make stories! But the machine breaks down. Can Elliot still use his new skill without it? Join us with your kids and find out!

We’ll be following up the reading with a fun activity where kids will learn about structure and plot by working collaboratively to craft an original story. The storyteller will share a prompt and we’ll physically join sentences on a length of ribbon so that the kids will watch as a narrative they’ve helped construct unfolds in real-time.

No storytelling session at the library is complete without crafts, of course! The kids will be making personalized bookmarks with their favorite quotes about writing and storytelling. There will be craft-supplies galore and perhaps your young one will be able to come up with their own quip on writing to make their creation even more special.
