About the event
Join us at the Lahore Library for an interactive workshop with noted British academic, Claire Chambers, and get a chance to discuss tips, strategies and the challenges of writing a brilliant book review or literary opinion piece.
The workshop will focus on Pakistani writing in English. Participants will be given the opportunity to work on a short writing sample and get feedback from the facilitator and the rest of the group.
If you’re an aspiring writer, journalist, teacher or student with an interest in literature or writing, then this workshop is for you! Get yourself registered and send us a short bio stating your affiliation and experience, in order to help us plan the structure of the event.
About the facilitator:
Claire Chambers is a Senior Lecturer in Global Literature at the University of York, where she teaches twentieth- and twenty-first century writing in English from South Asia, the Arab world, and their diasporas.
She is the author of Rivers of Ink: Selected Essays (2017), Britain Through Muslim Eyes: Literary Representations, 1780−1989 (2015), and British Muslim Fictions: Interviews with Contemporary Writers (2011), as well as editor (with Caroline Herbert) of Imagining Muslims in South Asia and the Diaspora: Secularism, Religion, Representations (2015). She writes a regular literary column for the Dawn newspaper.
This event is open to the public and appropriate for anyone over 18 years of age.
This event is FREE for members and registration fee for non members (payable at the door in cash prior to the event) is Rs. 500.
