Our August pick for the Bookish is a popular and powerful coming of age story about participating in life from the fringes.

Charlie is a wallflower. While he isn’t a complete social outcast, he isn’t popular either. Intelligent beyond his years, the novel follows his attempts to navigate the world of firsts that is high-school without actually taking part in any of it. As he catalogues the experiences of others, their first dates, true loves, he is forced move away from the side-lines and confront painful memories from his own past. Whether you’ve read the book or are a fan of the Emma Watson and Ezra Miller starring film, join us and other like-minded teens as talk over this poignant debut book.
