About the event
Imagine if you could read minds – now, imagine that you couldn’t stop reading them. Tod Hewitt, the main character in this critically acclaimed and award winning book, soon realises that having his mind read is the least of his worries.
A strange virus has wiped out all the women in Tod’s rural community and opened up the minds of the men so that their innermost thoughts are broadcast to everyone around them. As someone who can’t remember a time when ‘the Noise’ wasn’t part and parcel of life, Tod spends his days doing chores on his farm and preparing for a mysterious coming of age ceremony.
Everything changes when he encounters a lone patch of silence in the middle of a nearby swamp. As this discovery slowly unravels Tod’s world, he is forced to abandon his community and flee into the great unknown.
Read the book and join us and other like-minded teens as we discuss this tense read!
