‘There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife.’ So begins Neil Gaiman’s Newbery Medal winning bestseller about a boy adopted and reared by the undead and this month’s spine-tingling Bookish pick!
A toddler escapes the mysterious assassin that has slaughtered his entire family. He is taken in by a graveyard and raised by a variety of ghosts, ghouls, and other denizens of the spectral world. As he learns the various tricks of the supernatural and receives an unorthodox education from the resident vampire, the danger that destroyed his true family draws ever closer.
