Saturday 28th October 14:30 - 15:30
Our pick for this month’s Book Club is the Man Booker Prize long-listed novel “Home Fire”, the very popular Pakistani author Kamila Shamsie’s latest.
The pragmatic Isma is starting her Ph.D. in Massachusetts, America, but is afraid for her siblings back home in London: Aneeka, a law student with great brains and beauty, and her twin brother Parvaiz who is on the verge of joining the Islamic State in Syria. While Isma gives up on him, Aneeka tries to save her brother. She takes the help of a man who comes into her life at this time - Eamonn, the son of a politician. Will this new relationship form into something more than friendship? Will the two of them be able to bring Pervaiz back?
Join us for a robust discussion on the book and bring your friends along!
